Zeitwerk Handwerkskunst 140.048
A. Lange & Söhne Zeitwerk Handwerkskunst – one of the rarest Zweitwerk models produced.
Presented in 2012, this is the reference 140.048 Zeitwerk Handwerkskunst, a special limited edition of 30 pieces that comes in 950 platinum.
The “Handwerkskunst” models from A. Lange & Söhne represent their ultimate productions in terms of finishing techniques. For this rare bird, the unique aspect is the dial which was executed by hand with a technique called “tremblage engraving”. It showcases the prowess of the master artisans who used a sharp-teethed lining burin to render this amazing finish on the dial, made of a black-rhodiumed white gold plate. The dial is completed by rhodiumed gold hands and a rhodiumed German silver time bridge. The Zeitwerk is famous for its two lateral apertures with digital jumping numerals, which are present at each side of the time bridge.
Encased in a 950 platinum case measuring 42mm is the manually wound movement L043.4 with a constant-force escapement. It comes with a 36-hour power reserve, with its indicator on the dial at 12 o’clock with the classic AB and AUF words. The sapphire glass will allow the wearer to glance at the lavislhly decorated caliber and some of its 425 parts.
An interesting particularity of this watch is that the lever and escape wheel are made of hardened 18 ct gold, on the basis of the Glashütte lever escapement.
This allows the movement parts to be insensitive to magnetic fields.
An elegant black alligator strap with a matching deployant platinum buckle will secure this very rare timepiece to your wrist.
Our timepiece came fresh from service and enjoys an international warranty from A. Lange & Sohne
