The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar 26574ST.OO.1220ST.03 was introduced as a modern interpretation of the brand’s iconic perpetual calendar complication, housed within the legendary Royal Oak design. This timepiece, crafted in stainless steel, was designed to showcase the brand’s horological expertise while paying homage to the original Royal Oak’s signature blue hue, referred to as “Night Blue, Cloud 50” in the archives.

The 41mm case, with a slim profile of just 9.5mm, was constructed with the sharp lines and brushed surfaces characteristic of the Royal Oak collection. The octagonal bezel, secured by eight visible screws, and the integrated stainless steel bracelet with a folding clasp were retained, ensuring the watch’s instantly recognizable aesthetic. The Grande Tapisserie dial featured a new gradient of blue tones, with the subdials and inner bezel rendered in the darker, iconic shade, while the rest of the dial displayed a lighter blue for added contrast and depth.

The perpetual calendar complication was displayed across four subdials, indicating the date, day, month, leap year, and moon phase. Additionally, a week indicator was included on the inner bezel, pointed to by a central hand, adding a unique touch to the traditional QP layout. White gold hour markers and hands complemented the stainless steel case, enhancing the watch’s refined appearance.

Powering the watch was the in-house calibre 5134, an ultra-thin automatic movement based on the renowned calibre 2121. Measuring just 4.3mm in height, the movement featured a 22k gold openworked rotor and was decorated with Geneva stripes, circular graining, and polished chamfers, all visible through the sapphire caseback. Operating at 2.75Hz, the movement offered a 40-hour power reserve.
